Schonberg-Chandrasekhar limit original
Chandrasekhar limit original
definition This represents the maximum fraction of a star's mass that can be contained within an isothermal core while still supporting the rest of the star in hydrostatic equilibrium. Once the mass of an isothermal helium core exceeds this limit, the corse collapses and the star evolve rapidly. The limit varies depending on the star.
scope note Not to be confused with the Chandrasekhar limit.

Comas original
definition The nebulous envelope around the nucleus of a comet, formed when the comet passes close to the Sun.
editorial note Needs disambiguation or creation of at least two separate terms. Wikipedia, Coma (cometary): "In astronomy, a coma (from the Greek κόμη, "hair") is the nebulous envelope around the nucleus of a comet." WIkipedia, Coma (optics): "In optics (especially telescopes), the coma (aka comatic aberration) in an optical system refers to aberration inherent to certain optical designs or due to imperfection in the lens or other components which results in off-axis point sources such as stars appearing distorted, appearing to have a tail (coma) like a comet. Specifically, coma is defined as a variation in magnification over the entrance pupil. In refractive or diffractive optical systems, especially those imaging a wide spectral range, coma can be a function of wavelength, in which case it is a form of chromatic aberration." -BG

662 original
definition The maximum mass limit for a white dwarf star, ~1.44 solar masses. White dwarf stars in a binary system accreting mass from a companion will collapse in a Type II supernova once this limit is exceeded.
scope note Not to be confused with the Schonberg-Chandrasekhar limit.
